Choosing Electrical and Pneumatic Lockouts

These devices isolate plugs, wall switches, push buttons, emergency stops and air supply connections that cannot be locked with a breaker or valve lockout.

Measure plug size and cable diameter before choosing a plug lockout.
Switch and push-button covers must fit the panel cut-out and leave no way to operate the control.
For pneumatic lines, lock the quick-disconnect and release stored pressure before work.
Isolating a control circuit alone is not energy isolation; lock the main energy source whenever the procedure requires it.
